Bali also has a national park, Bali Barat National Park. Barat means west so the location of the park is in the west part of Bali (close to Gilimanuk).

The West Bali National Park is the home of many species of wildlife, the national park is best known as the sanctuary of the white Bali Starling.
Located in the most north-west point of Bali, the national park includes the whole area of the Prapat Agung Peninsula and large swathes of land around the towns of Gilimanuk, Cekik and Banyuwedang which are located in the regencies of Jembrana and Buleleng.
West Bali National Park has a great variety of rainforest, dry savannas, lowland forests and montane forests in the higher region, there is also a dense mangrove forest. In the north of the park, called Prapat Agung this peninsula is a long stretches of beaches and offshore coral reefs, here you can find the famous island of Menjangan, the area is protected.

160 bird species have been recorded in the park, including the Bali Starling, but because the starling was almost extincted West Bali National Park received 60 Bali Starling for release and this program was succesfull.

There are many animals in the National park, the deer is often seen on the beach.
